Position Overview

As Director of Platform Engineering, you will architect and lead the development of the foundational infrastructure that powers eGain’s AI knowledge management platform. You’ll be responsible for building robust, scalable systems that serve as the backbone for enterprise knowledge operations, ensuring our platform can handle the demands of the world’s most sophisticated organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of eGain’s core platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance at enterprise scale
  • Drive the technical strategy for platform services including data storage, compute infrastructure, security, and multi-tenancy
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of platform engineers who are passionate about solving complex technical challenges
  • Establish engineering excellence through best practices in system design, code quality, testing, and documentation
  • Partner with product leadership to translate business requirements into scalable platform capabilities
  • Own the technical roadmap for platform modernization, including cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code
  • Champion developer productivity by creating internal tools, APIs, and services that accelerate application development
  • Ensure platform compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
  • Master’s in Computer Science or a related field from a top-tier US university
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proven track record of building and scaling platforms that support mission-critical enterprise applications
  • Strong technical foundation in modern platform technologies including containers, orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation
  • Experience with data-intensive applications and managing platform performance at scale
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing engineering teams
  • Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement
