eGain for Legal Management
Overview
Key capabilities
1. Unified Legal Knowledge Hub Across Silos
Create a central repository of content and knowhow that will serve as the single source of truth and the foundation for AI automation. Examples include policies, internal memos in a DMS, litigation databases, regulatory alerts, and more. Leverage AI automation to discover the most commonly asked questions and the best answers, and accelerate the KM process end to end—source, create, curate, publish, and optimize.
2. Self-Service Legal Assistance Across the Enterprise
Leverage the solution to deliver conversational, expert legal guidance to users. The AI Agent connects to the Knowledge Hub and automates responses to user queries. For example, HR, procurement or finance teams could ask about termination clauses, NDAs, vendor obligations, etc., and the agent pulls from curated, compliant legal knowledge to answer or nudge to attorney escalation.
3. Intelligent Search and Suggestion
Legal templates and clause libraries can be annotated with metadata (e.g. jurisdiction, risk level, fallback language). When drafting, the AI Agent can proactively suggest the most relevant clause or template based on context (e.g. “you are drafting a software license in California, shall I insert this indemnity clause?”)
4. Regulatory Monitoring and Alerts
Ingest regulatory changes and compliance documents, curate summaries, and tie them to impacted internal policies. Then, using AI Agent-driven push alerts or “assistant nudges,” legal users working on relevant matters get notified in context. For example, when a new privacy regulation is added, the solution flags all contracts, policies, or templates it affects, and the AI Agent surfaces those to lawyers working in that domain.
5. Assist Attorneys with Rapid Answer Retrieval & Fatigue Reduction
Attorneys often waste time jumping between windows, systems, and knowledge sources. With eGain’s AI Agent “zero setup” conversational interface, lawyers can ask legal questions in natural language and get responses or pointers — reducing time spent on basic research. Because the AI Agent is backed by trusted content and knowhow, responses are consistent, auditable, and compliant, reducing legal risk from ad hoc answers.
6. Mitigate risk and improve decision-making
Legal departments often have to make educated decisions on what cases to litigate and what cases not to, based on factors such as the subject matter, past win rates, and more. eGain supports both deterministic and model-based reasoning to guide legal departments to make the least risky decisions.
