eGain adds business development executive to focus on third-party relationships worldwide

Seasoned Exec Suzanne Hoffman Joins eGain as Vice President of Global Business Development

SUNNYVALE, Calif, March 8, 2002 – eGain Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: EGAN), a global provider of eService software, today announced the appointment of Suzanne Hoffman as vice president of global business development.

Hoffman, who has broad experience in international sales and marketing, will focus on building and enhancing third-party relationships, including partners, resellers, agents and other parties involved in relationships with eGain’s customers and prospects.

Hoffman comes to eGain from Aspect Communications, where she was responsible for direct and indirect sales in Europe and Asia Pacific, as well as channel and partner management on a global basis. She held the title of vice president, global channels. Previously, she was vice president of strategic alliances at Applix, where during her tenure she increased international partner revenues by 400%, working across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Hoffman has also held sales and business development positions at Hyperion Solutions where she was instrumental in the building and evolution of a corporate partner strategy. Her experience at Metaphor Inc (wholly owned subsidiary of IBM), and Cognos Corporation gives her directly relevant expertise in building high-value third-party relationships that augment the efforts of a direct sales force. In addition, Hoffman will leverage her experience working with system integrators such as Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and leading companies such as Convergys, i2 Technologies and IBM.

“Suzanne Hoffman’s worldwide experience and ability to build relationships where everyone wins will be a tremendous asset for us, and will enable us to increase both marketshare and mindshare,” said Arnold Adriaanse, senior vice president of sales at eGain. “She has a very strong track record working with both large enterprises and emerging companies. As eGain enters its next phase of growth, Hoffman’s expertise will be invaluable in increasing our market reach, traction and momentum with key business partners.”

Hoffman graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics.
