Account Director

We are currently looking for an account director to be a part of our Sales team in North America.


Location: Northeast, US (Remote—Chicago, IL preferred)

Experience: 5+ years’ successful track record in complex solutions-selling and prospecting roles


  • Aggressively pursue new logo relationships and build pipeline for new business opportunities
  • Identify, develop, and grow business opportunities to meet customer needs and sales quota objectives
  • Work with our partner network and channel team to recognize and capitalize on new opportunities
  • Build long-term customer relationships and provide important, measurable benefits to customers’ businesses
  • Work with the delivery teams to ensure continuing customer satisfaction and to develop areas of additional revenue
  • Deliver high quality customer presentations to VP and C-level audiences
  • Work with the marketing and product development teams to determine future product direction, based on current and future customer needs
  • Navigate accounts, create and execute strong close plans
  • Create, maintain and execute on a account / sales plan and forecast accurately in a volatile SaaS environment

Must-have qualifications and skills

  • Four-year college degree required
  • Sold to customer service departments
  • Experience of selling contact center solutions to business and IT leaders
  • Sold customer experience software
  • Successful track record in digital communications
  • Preference given to having sold knowledge management software
  • Sold software used in website deployments
  • Sold to marketing or eCommerce departments
  • Experience in small company environment or ability to adapt to a small company
  • Strong VP and C-level relationships in a variety of industries
  • Sold SaaS solutions
  • Ability to identify unique sales opportunities from initial meetings, understand a technical discovery process
  • Ability to co-create solutions with prospects and customers that provided measurable ROI and customer referenceability
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work independently in a virtual team setting
  • Proven hunter with ability to close new logo business opportunities
  • Proven ability to navigate accounts and creat and execute on strong sales and account plans
  • Proven track record exceeding annual sales quotas in the range of $1.5M—$2M

Good-to-have qualifications and skills

  • Should be a hunter, not a farmer
  • Selling experience in contact center solutions / omnichannel solutions


  • Should have ideally worked in call/ contact center environments
  • Should be able to travel to other offices of eGain and customer offices
  • Five plus years of experience in selling Enterprise Application Software in a direct quota bearing role
