Position: Sr. Solutions Consultant (Sales Engineer)

Location: Chicago, IL

Summary:

The Solution Consultant works in tandem with the Account Manager to drive new sales opportunities from qualification to close. In particular, the solution consultant focuses on understanding the business and the technical requirements of the prospect, and strives to showcase how the eGain applications can meet these requirements in the best possible light. The solutions consultant is expected to have in-depth knowledge of product functional capabilities and technical architecture, and possess a good understanding of the overall customer service landscape with respect to business/technology drivers and competitive landscape.

Responsibilities:

  Conduct discovery sessions to completely understand prospect's business and technical requirements
  Prepare and deliver a solution presentation and custom product demonstration that highlights eGain's differentiators and expertise in meeting client's stated requirements
  Strategize with the Account Manager on the next best activities to move deal further down the sales funnel
  Prepare and conduct proof-of-concept and pilots including coordinating all aspects of setup and training if needed
  Prepare and coordinate the eGain response to RFI/RFP from clients during the pre-sales cycle
  Expertly handle customer questions on functional / technical capabilities during meetings / presentations, and if needed, adapt presentation / demo to customer's line of questioning

Qualifications:

  Bachelors degree in a technical discipline
  Five or more years experience as Solution Consultant / Sales Engineer working with enterprise software applications (Oracle, SAP, Kana, Rightnow, Knova, ATG, Talisma, Salesforce)
  Software development experience – basic expertise with DHTML, CSS, JSP, JAVA and SQL is essential
  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  Ability to travel to client sites (50% travel)
